a few words about meHi, I’m Christine! I am a wife, mom of twin teenage girls, and an inspired Life Coach and Intuitive Counselor! My vision when creating The Guiding Light Life Coaching, was to offer a warm, safe and supportive environment for individuals of all ages to open up, discover, release, grow and heal. My coaching and counseling style is quite unique, differing from most of the traditional life coaching and counseling practices out there. The intuitive and healing nature of my work has proven to be highly effective, allowing for a beautiful flow of energy and peace, even amongst the most challenging of situations. My practice is based upon the foundation that we are all individual sparks of light, and there is no “one size fits all” approach to helping others grow and achieve personal happiness, healing and success. Each one of us has our own distinct, ever-changing set of beliefs, circumstances, goals and desires and each session is customized according to your needs. My approach is open, caring, and honest, allowing clients to feel comfortable expressing themselves without judgment, no matter what they bring to the table.

So, a little about me… I was a lively, curious and inquisitive child, who grew up on the beautiful shores of Long Island. I loved to laugh, listen to music, go to the beach and hang out with my friends.  For as long as I can remember, I have always been extremely perceptive. At a young age, I had a keen ability to read others and sense the energy around me. I was always very in tune with peoples’ feelings and emotions, and as a result, I always remember trying my best to keep everyone happy, because that was the energy I felt most comfortable in. If I had to choose one stand-out trait about myself as a teen, I would have to say that I always saw the glass half full. I was a perpetual optimist, you know, one of those that you just want to smack in the head because they see nothing but rainbows and sunshine no matter the situation…yeah, well that was me. Some may say I can still be that way at times, but I like to say, I’m just a realistic optimist!

I attended college in a small town in upstate New York and shortly after, began my career working in the field of creative marketing in New York City. After marrying my high school sweetheart, learning the ropes and working my way up the corporate ladder of a major product development company, I decided that there was something missing in my life. Although I enjoyed the fast paced lifestyle, and the hustle and bustle of corporate America, there was a part of me that wasn’t being fulfilled. I had a really cool, creative job in the cosmetic marketing industry, but as the days went on, that feeling of longing for something more began to intensify. I would look around my office, observe people working around the clock, burning out, crying, giving their blood, sweat and literal tears, and I would just think to myself… something doesn’t seem right here! The endless hours and non-stop presentation slides started to weigh on me and I began to think about what I truly wanted for my future, because to be honest, this really wasn’t the picture I was envisioning. I just knew that my soul and spirit were in search of something more.

Shortly after, I decided to take a break from the hustle and bustle of corporate America to pursue a career that was more personally fulfilling and meaningful to me. Although I really wanted to be a Social Worker or Psychologist, the timing for that type of commitment, just wasn’t right. So, I made the decision to attend Graduate School and pursue a Masters Degree in the field of Education and work with children. I then began working as an Elementary and Special Education Teacher in schools, and as well as in private homes. I absolutely LOVED working with children…I found so much joy seeing the world through their smiling faces and inquisitive little eyes. However, as happy as I was, doing what I loved, I always had this inner knowing that teaching was not my end goal. It was as if my purpose was to do something different, something more unique, but at that time, I just wasn’t exactly sure what that was. A few years later, I was pregnant with twin girls and I was fortunate enough to be able to take some time off, raise my little girls, and delve into my passions.

I have always found joy in fully embracing life…traveling, spending time with family and friends, enjoying hobbies such as photography, reading, interior design, music, yoga, spirituality and intuitive development. However, I always felt one of the most rewarding aspects of life was to be of service to others, so I enjoyed finding various local volunteering opportunities. I will never forget one of my most memorable experiences was volunteering within the field of Substance Abuse Recovery. I was given the honor of working with Teens and Adults who were struggling with addiction, divorce, abuse, eating disorders, mental health imbalances and a variety of other concerns.  These men and women from all different backgrounds were making big strides, navigating through the daily joys and challenges of recovery and taking steps to transform their lives. They were in great need of guidance, support, healing and empowerment and I was gifted the beautiful pleasure of serving them. My admiration for those individuals and the strength and dedication that they put forth each day, inspired me so much that it lead me to the role of becoming a volunteer Recovery Coach at a community Recovery Center. It was then and there that I realized that I had found my true calling as a “Coach.” After spending time working with those beautiful souls, I reveled in the joy, passion, and inspiration that it brought me, and I decided that Coaching was the missing piece I had been searching for! Over the past 15 years I have spent a great deal of time educating and certifying myself in the field of Professional Life Coaching, as well as developing and fine tuning my innate Intuitive gifts and abilities. I am very pleased to say that years later, my little homegrown volunteer efforts, have blossomed into a thriving Life Coaching and Intuitive Counseling practice that has brought more joy and fulfillment than I could have ever dreamed of. I have made it my mission to help awaken, guide, support and empower individuals of all ages, to become the best version of their authentic selves!
